MORE ABOUT MOBILE CHANNEL CHARACTERISTICS

Table of Contents

The Table of Contents has been expanded since the first edition.

Included Programs

Mobile Channel Characteristics contains many working programs.  Some demonstrate points in the text.  Others are specifically intended as utilities for readers to use in their own work.  Here is a partial listing:

·        Generation of channel gain for simulation by Jakes’ method, in a variant that does not suffer from the problem of persistent correlation between different gain sequences.

·        Generation of channel gain for simulations that use importance sampling – typically saves an order of magnitude in simulation run times.

·        Generation of channel gain for simulations by filtering white noise – procedures for designing the filter and for generating the gains by FFT.

·        Generation of correlated channel gains for simulation of multiple antennas.

·        Calculation of antenna correlation matrix for arbitrarily oriented, directional antennas, for MIMO and for spatio-temporal correlation.

·        Simulation of MIMO eigenvalue distributions, instantaneous capacity and mean capacity, all with and without correlation.

Sample Sections

Notes: Parameter assignments highlighted in yellow are especially worth changing; bold, underlined text indicates a hyperlink; formatting in the html version is not as clean as in the Mathcad original; and only the Mathcad versions allow interaction with graphs and simulations.
